Can somebody explain why it would/ wouldn't land under insider trading laws?

    The auction market for ads is way different than security trading.

    Many advertiser bids are computed by algorithms, for example it could be a base price multiplied by a predicted chance of clicking on that ad, computed by machine learning by Google on behalf of the advertiser.

    The depiction in the lawsuit is misconstrued, probably stitched from some emails found in discovery
