excellent post. It is important we get beyond the moral grandstanding phase, and fully consider the implications of the weaponisation of ostensibly apolitical systems in finance, law and technology.

If these systems become instruments of the foreign policy of any single actor, wielded unilaterally without any oversight, then it represents a threat to the sovereignty of every country who still cares about the notion.

Perhaps the future will be independent national systems with a decentralised protocol for interoperability.
