posted 12 years ago

We're three ex-Googlers building a predictive analytics product. Our company is still in stealth mode but we're already running production systems to process an increasingly large amount of traffic (billions of impressions per month and counting).

We're looking for exceptional software engineers with Scala/JVM expertise and a passion for large scale distributed systems. If you get excited about exploring and implementing sophisticated algorithms on extremely large amounts of data then we should talk!

Responsibilities:

  - Build scalable, available, low latency serving and storage systems

  - Build fault-tolerant distributed data processing systems

  - Build tooling for deployment and monitoring of our systems

  - Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues

Desirable traits:

  - Strong algorithms and data structures background

  - Experience processing, storing, and serving large amounts of data

  - Experience with Scala and/or Java

  - Experience deploying, tuning, monitoring JVM apps in production (particularly on EC2)

  - Experience with Akka, Hadoop, Spark, Scalding, and/or Storm

  - Experience with HDFS, HBase and/or Kafka

  - Familiarity with HTTP, DNS, and network nuances

  - Familiarity with JavaScript and web browser nuances
