Social Skills Bootcamp
justinmares.comI think learning to tell stories is a huge leap forward. I used to have no idea about this, but over time have noticed that effective leaders can rewrite history or light up the path through the future with an effective story.
(On a side note, I'd totally pay for a social skills bootcamp! I bet there are a ton of tiny improvements they could teach most people within the first 30 seconds of observing them)
How much would you pay? Let's say something that taught you how to effectively enter and leave conversations in a positive light, basic body language reading to gauge your audience's interest, and maybe 10 or so basic conversational tools?
I would pay a grand or so a month if not more
I agree actually, I'd pay probably 2-3k for something like this. Problem would be finding people who are experts in this field and not slimy (like the pickup field or any of that)
What would you be expecting for your $2-3K? One day, a weekend? Group sessions, one-on-one instruction or both? Would you travel to something like this or want it local?
It's not too hard to weed out the pick up artists. They are usually not at all shy about giving advice on how to get to and what to do in the bedroom. Their methods are also mostly centered around the concept of dominance.
Probably a multi week course (not constant), or something that teaches you a skill and gives you the chance to implement social changes. For example, 8 weeks of weekly meetings and 1-2 weekly video lectures, along with a week to practice your new skills.
Are you thinking of doing something like this?
I've had an interest in setting up a course like this for a while now. I'm actually putting together a short survey right now to gather feedback and gauge interest. If I can find enough people and the format is right, I would make it happen.
