Ask HN: Any solution for bookmarks on various services?
There are 'liked' Youtube videos, subscribed channels, play lists etc. Twitter has bookmarked tweets apart from liked tweets. Hacker news has favourite comments and posts. These are just few examples of service offered bookmarks. Then we have our own bookmarked URLs of all kind of things.
Is there a solution to all these collections on various places where one can actually back to and find old interesting things again?
I made a browser extension which saves URLs and title as plain text to a local file or a service. But that does not make me go back and check those links, in-fact its the other way around because they are many. I have been thinking that it should be easier now (AI and all) but I don't know what the solution will be like.
I use obsidian with obsidian sync to keep track of most things. Among these notes I have tiny notes which are basically just a title and a url, possibly linked to some concept or other note.
Easily searchable and navigable too.
I think another problem here is that if I am favouriting something on HN for example, I won't put that in my own bookmark collection.
May be I need a way to import favorites from all these services to my own collection. And then ... categorize them with AI perhaps?
That is partially what I do! I don't favourite stuff at all really on HN/X/whatever. I use https://obsidian.md/clipper to download them straight into my vault.
Then there is https://pi.dev/packages/pi-obsidian which I use to give an agent access to my vault for searching/organising tasks
Do you have any idea what kind of interface you want for this or what functionality and ways of usage it should fulfill?
I'm having a hard time understanding what you're looking for. Browser bookmarks seem to fulfill the technical requirements, but you seem to want something different. Maybe a sort of unified feed?
I have all these marked things in all these various services. I want them in a single place AND I want to actually be able to see what's in this whole pile.
