Temporal Continuity provides persistent relational continuity rather than conventional workflow replay or simple state snapshots. Its continuity model preserves established context, relationships, and interaction history across sessions, allowing applications to maintain coherent long-term experiences even when the underlying AI model changes. The service is designed to preserve the integrity and consistency of that continuity without requiring developers to manage the underlying persistence mechanisms.
This distinction is important:
Temporal.io: Replays workflow execution history to recover deterministic workflow state and resume execution.
Snapshot services: Restore previously captured representations of state.
Temporal Continuity: Maintains persistent relational continuity across AI interactions, preserving identity, context, relationship boundaries, and contribution provenance independently of the underlying AI model.
