Mathematics Is Not Real
Of course AI is good at a game of manipulating symbols with well defined rules. We knew this since computers surpassed humans at chess. Math is just another game of symbols.
I'll be impressed when AI can achieve something impressive in the real world, something humanity can't create yet:
Room temperature superconductor.
Fusion reactor.
Anti-aging pill.
Peace in the Middle East.
Add "anthropomorphic climate change", otherwise the peace in the middle east is easy to solve burning all the oil.
And there is another trade-off in Anti-aging pill vs cancer.
On the contrary, only math is real and everything else is an illusion.
Weird, I thought everyone knew this by now.
Only if you are a programmer.
Counterpoint: logarithms (at least) are real. Slide rules work to multiply numbers.
