The multiple bibliographies is a godsend. And I hope that will make the implementation of proper endnote support easier.

I love typst. It is a simple way to create reusable layouts and functions that you can fill with dynamic data.

E.g. I am a freelancer and made an invoice template where I just have to provide my customers data and the amounts. It automatically renders a QR code that my customer can scan that enters the right IBAN, subject, amount into their banking account (there is a standard for everything). Additionally it calculates the tax, sums the different positions, etc.

I also use it to create stellar looking lab reports for repaired equipment, documentation, etc.

The cool thing is how easy it is to just create reusable functions and templates in your own private namespace (I sync the folders using Nextcloud).

Before I used either InDesign or LaTeX for that purpose. InDesign has some powerful features, but it bogs you down more and the results feel less reusable. LaTeX is crazy powerful, but it has too many flavors, the defaults are not good enough (for 2026), it has inferior dependency managment and some things that should be simple are hard. I can imagine LaTeX is still superior in certain domains, but for me typst just feels better to use.

And then there is of course markdown. Markdown is for when markdown is good enough, which is surprisingly often.
