What did Google do to its Linux terminal on Pixel phones

You can't use the app without having the permissions "always on" for microphone and nearby divices

I also think they changed the internal language because the terminal app used w3m up until the recent 753 mb forced-update. So after a few months of learning what w3m was, it wasn't even installed anymore in the freshly updated terminal app

I also can't figure out what needs to be turned on/off to prevent the terminal app from crashing if I leave it idle for more than a few minutes

The solution is to just use termux, but the pixel was a work horse when combined with the text based web. Now it's just a horse I have to prod with cd every few minutes to get back to where I was

Mandatory permissions for microphone use and access to nearby devices? That sounds questionable; I wonder how that’s justified.
