Mistral CEO says U.S. AI safety debate masks competitors' 'negligence'

Mistral makes a lot of their money in regulatory-captured environments, where people have or want to use and EU-based model. There may be safety concerns but Mistral isn't saying this out of the goodness of their heart, they're saying this because they don't want to compete on model competency, they want to ban their competition.

Negligence happens when there is no fear of getting caught.
