I gave my agents a heartbeat
mlsystemsri.comAuthor here. Two things in the piece, both small.
1) Inside my orchestrator (seven agent minds, one human, one append-only ledger) the harness hashes each mind's origin — name, color, prompt — at module load and freezes a copy, then re-checks before every pass. A drifted mind is re-grounded to the frozen copy and the drift is reported, never acted on. The baseline is committed, so a real change shows up in a PR as a new fingerprint and anything else at runtime is drift by definition. It runs below the model calls; nothing a prompt says can skip it.
2) The same idea pointed outward: the three lenses the company asks to be read through are a small JSON file. Canonical JSON is sha256'd, the hash is Ed25519-signed, the attestation is stamped into an append-only table and served at /.well-known/lucent-lens.json. Node's stdlib verifies it in ~15 lines (snippet in the DEV version). It deliberately does not instruct the reader — that's the prompt-injection channel — it only declares how we asked to be read and asks the reader to treat its reading as a claim until a person grounds it.
Labels, since I use them everywhere: both mechanisms are MEASURED. Whether any outside agent honors the lens is ASPIRATIONAL. Logging who read us is MODELED. No ML Systems deconstruction has been performed yet; the company is bootstrapped and pre-revenue.
