Nice write-up!
I’ve moved a lot of my prose based guardrails into agent supported hooks, pre-commit hooks and CI checks. I’ve found this deterministic back pressure helps coding agents more consistently figure out for themselves when they’re doing things out of band.
That makes sense, because I really do find that as a conversation goes on and the context grows, the agent simply starts to forget about all the rules.
