Reuters should know better. While $30T is probably absurd, Anthropic is claiming that's the total addressable market for AI services, not that they will capture 100% of that market

I figured that’s what it was, TAM numbers in S-1 filings are always hyperbolic. AirBNB’s claimed TAM in their S-1 was over $3T.

AirBNB TTM revenue (7/25-6/26) is $13.5B, which is 0.45% of $3T.

“Imagine if we capture even just 0.5% of the market!”

That feels very 2010s Silicon Valley. Simpler times.

I also already told my potential investors that I see $30T in potential revenue. Talk is cheap.

I canceled today, so they should reduce that by $100.

If you're shopping around and willing to try a side project I've been building its www.freepi.ai its totally free coding in a pi harness (web coding front end coming soon though!) and it's Ad+training supported inference.

I'm building it so I'm totally open to feedback and would love to build something people really like.

$30T seems like a lot, but Anthropic and OpenAI will need to be making ten times that to match investor expectations.

In what world is 10x US GDP, 3-4x US Marketcap, or 60x the US annual tax collection the requirement for investor expectations?

A world where investors have grown accustomed to absurd levels of growth.

At this point why not just say they expect a bajillion dollars in revenue? Would be just as factual of a statement.

"Sees" doing a lot of heavy lifting in this sentence.

sensanaty

Just a casual quarter of global GDP, sounds legit.

Why even stop at 30T at this point? Why not just say a bajillion, it's all made up numbers anyways

anslopic

Thirty trillion isn’t cool you know what’s cool belligerently lying
