FTA for context: The Times had not lost a defamation lawsuit brought in the United States over one of its articles in more than 50 years.
The times is not really the same newspaper anymore.
Fun and eye opening thought experiments:
1)find an recent article you are an expert on and critically analyze it’s content from correctness and accuracy. (Gell man amnesia effect).
2) pick a common article (crime or accident) from recently, go back 30+ years and find another similar article. The compare the content for content, style, and tone.
You will probably be surprised.
