Show HN: Future Crew's 1993 Second Reality, rebuilt by AI agents, no emulation
secondreality1993.comSecond Reality was one of the programs that made me a computer geek as a kid. I built this as an homage to Future Crew and to make the demo accessible to anyone with a browser.
I also wanted to see whether current AI coding agents could actually reconstruct something this gnarly from the original C, x86 assembly, Pascal, data files, and shipped executables without just approximating the visuals. I kept pushing for source-level fidelity, including the music sync, VGA quirks, hidden part, and deterministic verification.

That was amazing! It really took me back. I did not expect a full-screen, immersive experience. I expected a small screen visual and my computer to crawl to a halt. The landing page is retro-useful. Nice job on this:-)

That was my first thought - the effort required. I hope you keep the domain and wares active for a long time. Sometimes these projects become 404s in 6 months and https://www.secondreality1993.com/ doesn't deserve that fate:-)
