Indie projects exploded after GPT/Claude Code, but traction stayed flat

For years I visited the Show HN daily, often gave the first upvote in /new. The number of submissions, especially vibe coded ones, was wearing me down. 35 submissions in the last hour (https://news.ycombinator.com/shownew). Some ideas are really bad and I don't want to get into the habit of only giving negative feedback on ideas, even if justified (example https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49286876)

From ChatGPT's launch to the February 2026 peak, monthly Show HN submissions jumped from 0.9k to 5.8k (6.3x increase), however Show HN posts reaching 20+ points rose by only just 1.6x
