9 out of 10 bestselling novels in UK have 1 thing in common: a woman is murdered

Does anyone know if this a major issue in progressive/feminist circles, vs. the the Guardian just puffing up a bit of (relative) trivia for the clicks?

(Either way, it was interesting that the article seemed to regard men as irrelevant to the situation.)
