Show HN: Autonomous daily AI news briefing blog
ai0.newsI like keeping myself in the loop of AI progress, and with an amount of things that are happening in the industry it has been quite a challenge.
Yes there are plenty of AI newsletters and news-sources, including HN itself. However, all of those require significant time commitment. I was looking for something in a 5-minute-morning-briefing format, so I built it myself.
Idea is pretty simple - every morning a pipeline is launched by cron on my raspberry pi. It crawls a few news sources (HN, reddit, tech crunch etc.) , aggregates, deduplicates and rates the news based on importance, then writes a blog posts with an overview and publishes it on the blog. This lets me quickly get up-to-speed and follow links for topics I want to explore in-depth. I also included key feedback from the community discussion which turned out to add a bit of "flavor" for otherwise plain news reading.
I also added a podcast and newsletter format; I myself prefer to read it directly on the website but occasionally I can give it a listen instead if I'm for example traveling somewhere.
It turned out pretty great if you ask me. After all, isn't this what AI is good at - summarizing text, and presenting it in a slightly different format?
