Which web browser has no AI?

10 points by lilerjee 8 days ago · 14 comments · 1 min read

I think it's time to stay away from softwares or tools which have AI features.

First find the good enough web browser which has no AI.

"No AI", I mean totally no AI features, not the options to close AI features.

Because using AI or adding AI features can influence many aspects of the softwares (decisions, philosophy, UI, details, attitudes to users, privacy, security, etc.), and reflects the abilities and purposes of the developer or company.

Helium [1][2], for now at least.

LibreWolf - Firefox without all the bloat, you'll just need to change the settings so that it doesn't delete cookies when you close the window.

Later this year Ladybird is supposed to launch (Alpha) and it doesn't support any AI features AFAIK.

Any browser with a settings page where you can disable the AI features. Couple of clicks and you're all good.

This doesn't really make any sense... why not just turn them off?

Opera ships with "Opera AI" a little button in the corner that opens an AI chat.

I think it's backed by ChatGPT and Gemini?

And according to it: Yes, Opera collects the prompts and specific active page context you submit when you use the AI button
