Heheh, that got a laugh out of me. I feel like you'd probably get a better response on HN if you used Show HN instead, since I don't think this is anything beyond a hobby project at the moment?

I’ve displayed it on ShowHN but it didn’t get much traction, so I’m just posting the iterative updates as I add what I think are meaningful features. It is a hobby project! But I personally use it at work every day and have uninstalled my main IDEs to try and figure out pain points.

edit: I’m elated by the laugh! Little whimsy in software never hurt anyone

Every once in a while I see some feature like app XYZ getting dark mode or spell check pop up on the HN front page. I don't understand why. These are absolutely basic features ever since the turn of the millennium, so why are these being announced/launched like some big deal?

I’d wager that it’s more about the use of the LSP and general interest in the project? You’re right that it is table stakes for a lot of editors and I’m probably behind in adding it in mine. But now it’s there and I hope it indicates if folks want to use the editor and want features added that the project is active and adding features on a decent cadence (for a new dad of 2 lol)

edit: also I’m just posting it because I think it’s a meaningful improvement. I don’t think I’ve said that it’s now ready to replace vscode or vim now

Am I missing something here? Why is this considered a noteworthy feature when my operating system has provided this API enabled by default for all text and document views for over twenty years now? (https://leopard-adc.pepas.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual...)

Maybe the implementation or the program that is adding it in? Or maybe the grammar freaks are out in force ;)
