This feels like an arms race that's fundamentally unwinnable. If students are using AI, hiding prompts inside assignments just incentivizes better prompt sanitization tools. Long term, assessment probably needs to evolve toward work that demonstrates reasoning rather then detecting AI use

    AI is solving math problems better than me. It will very hard to find problems that "demonstrates reasoning" where the humans are better than the AI.

    I've seen last year some tests with patters with blocks of colors, but I guess that it can be added to the training set and I can't imagine that as part of a midterm.
