The whitehouse.gov item is quite the blast from the past:

    Good article. Too preachy.

In what way? seems quite balanced and sums up what the designers wanted to get across for each revision

The framing of certain developments. For example,

        >A [Trump admin] holding page ... still used Hoefler fonts – the uprightness from the previous [Obama] administration had apparently not abated.

as well as other instances wherein the author's account feels molded to signal the badness of Trump. This is in spite of what is, in my opinion, the more intriguing subtext at this point in the article: that the White House designers had acted purposefully incompetent in their service of the Trump admin (this the author hints at).

        The article was otherwise enjoyable.

I found a copy of Encyclopaedia of Typefaces by Jaspert et al. in a second hand bookshop. My partner went and paid for it while I went outside for some fresh air. Apparently the young girl at the till saw the book and said "ooh, let me see if my favourite is in there" and proceeded to find Goudy Old Style which she said is in the title card of Blade Runner. It's a shame I wasn't there because I would have asked her how do you know this?! Are typefaces/fonts trending at the moment?

I have this site’s rss feed in my feed reader. I definitely don’t try to keep up with every post but once a week or so I click through a dozen or so recent posts.
