Ask HN: How do you handle the actual situation with so much AI noises
I've been trying to promote my project for a week now and it's terrible. I've try to post on X continuously and also on Reddit.
I even follow the trend "looking to connect with..." but so far no user/feedback yet.
How do you guys handle such frustration and keeping your mental health ? Don't take it personal. It's not the 1950s. People's everyday problems are solved. The market is flooded with products and marketing that frame the tiniest problems as world-changing and you're competing with the vibe-coding children of the rich who have virtually endless resources and connections. Here's a way to think about it : 1) SharkNinja's newest product is a microwave that makes old french fries crispy. 2) The market is going crazy over it. => If the market values this, then you shouldn't take it too seriously. Be patient. Try gardening. Do a little each day and every day. Engage with your customers. Put yourself out there. If you don't enjoy working on it without instant success, maybe it's not worth your time anyway. How to take your product to market has been the downfall of many, many startups. Building something is the easy bit - getting people to pay attention to it is far harder, especially if you're not someone who enjoys marketing. Hit up your network and find someone who genuinely loves marketing a new product, and ask for help. However... Also note that the startup market has changed a lot over the past couple of years. AI has made people shift from "how can I pay to fix my pain point?" to "How can I vibe code an app to fix my pain point?" Marketing in those conditions is much, much harder than it has been in the past. You describe in few sentenses perfectly what happens now. You're right, it's under the pressure that we progress the most. For once, I stepped out of my comfort zone and chatted with strangers more than ever before. x'D Btw What's your project ? Use Hacker News. Unlike most sites, it's moderated. Yeah that's I noticed, but I need some time before being able to publish on Show HN This is by design. Hacker News tends to frown on people who only use it as a tool to promote their own interests. When you actively participate in the community in good faith, you’ll generally get more feedback and engagement when you do want to showcase something you’ve created. Absolutely right !
