Apple is skipping M6 Pro and Max to focus on M7 chips
They are skipping to "focus more on AI" and to makd M7 "AI powered".

This doesn't match Apple's known chip development cycle. Pro/Max variants share the same architecture as base - they're not independent projects you can "skip".

Skip as in not manufacturing them. That part still costs time and effort. TSMC has limited capacity. You have to pick.
Also it's not 100% shared. Pro and max often have additional things added on.
