Trying to recover from thin content penalty from Google

5 points by anitroves 2 days ago · 8 comments · 1 min read

We just launched anitroves.com early this 2026 and had added thousands of Anime and Manga pages with basic wiki informations along with our Characters roleplays, Otaku and AniPick AI.

We thought those pages would be great to rank for multiple keywords and get initial traffic but after a few weeks google analyzed and penaltized our site for thin content though it didn't showed any issues in manual actions but it did de-indexed whole site and then only remained our main page, we got more than 30,000 impressions within 2 weeks which dropped to a few hundreds.

As we are only college students with no real developer or experience but passion, now we have removed all those thousands of pages and have kept only Anime characters Roleplay chats along with Otaku AI. AniPick AI and other basic features.

We are hoping for a recovery but we need advice from real experts.

It would be great if you HNs can take a moment to analyze my website and give us a piece of advice.

Also removed that wired.business backlink on footer, exchange of links like this lead to penalty.

How did you reach 30,000 impressions within 2 weeks? Really want to hear some more details regarding this

It was probably google testing our website for it's initial database entry as AniTroves had thousands of pages.
