Product Hunt launches doubled while engagement halved

I built a trend visualizer / data-query tool on top of a Product Hunt dataset (https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/mathisco01/product-hunt-laun...) and discovered that while the amount of launches nearly doubled in the first half of 2026, the engagement (upvotes, comments, etc) with those launches almost halved.

Product Hunts effectiveness was highly contested already, but with the platform being flooded by thin AI launches it's value to builders seems fleeting.

And before you ask, yes the webapp was built with LLMs.
