White House's Aliens.gov Site Brags That ICE Arrested More Than 700 US Citizens
wired.comArresting American citizens for nothing and bragging about it, I bet the Republicans have a lot of reasons why this is good and why everyone should be happy masked men in the streets will assault you and potentially kill you for the crime of being born here.
Reality gets very grim and you lose hope in others when you see people who you thought otherwise reasonable defending this.
You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Perfect is the enemy of good. This is acceptable collateral damage. The number is surprisingly low. I've seen so many bullshit justifications like these.
At this point, I can’t think of anything else than these people are completely brainwashed, repeating bits from their propaganda. It’s completely impossible to reason with them.
Well, yeah. The reason that it's good is that the people who were arrested were protecting illegal aliens, or had committed some kind of crime.
Whatever it was, they are safe, and the government is only arresting bad people.
sigh the thing is, and this is especially true for conservatives and bigots, what counts as “American,” regardless of citizenship paperwork or what arbitrary plot of land you were born in, is ultimately left to their own interpretation.

Ironically, the wording on this site does a good job of explaining how “aliens” live among us and we didn’t even notice any negative impact or harm from that happening.
But MAGA brownshirts will never pick up on that level of nuance.
I also think the intended audience of this website doesn’t have the patience or reading ability to wait through that endless scroll of text.
That is the main change with the current government.
Previously they at least would have faked to be ashamed, now they brag about their incompetence.
2% of US population are in prison. So for 700 my reaction is "only"? Goverment agency with such powers should find at least 7 million people with unpaid parking tickets, unpaid student loans or pending child support... teachers who raped their students... hell, half of US population should be in prison for breaking some law!
I’m pretty sure MAGA has already floated the idea of indiscriminately putting Democrats in prison, as well as making criticism of Dear Leader a crime.
