Show HN: I built an AI medical-records hub after my mom's cancer diagnosis

My mom was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

That's both an overwhelming diagnosis but also an overwhelming flood of information, documents, appointments, options and questions.

I needed a place to keep track of it all and also a place to ask questions, do research and help my parents and family do the same.

So, naturally, I built something.

Not charging anything for it at the moment (and with as much AI as I've got layered into this, frankly it's gonna cost me a nice chunk of change to run it). Mostly interested in just making this as useful as possible to families going through long, complex and heavy situations.

Tech stack: Rails backend, Inertia/React frontend, Swift for iOS, Anthropic for LLM bits.

Looking at the page, it took me a while to understand that I can register. It looks like a webpage only for your family. It needs some button like "Add new patient" or "Add new family"

If another member of the family get's sick, is it possible to transfer the group? It may have like a 90% overlap.

> Is this a medical record organizer?

I'm not sure if HIPAA applies, but you will have a lot of confidential information. Just be careful and ensure you are following all the regulations whatever they are.

> Walk into appointments knowing what to ask.

This is super important!!! Medical doctors need like 10 years to get their knowledge, perhaps more. The patient+family only has a few weeks. I think it's important to do your own research mostly to "know what to ask". (Out there is full of misinformation and crap, from weird pages in all caps with white letters on a black background to polished pages in universities full of over hype about a success case in one mice.)

I'll add somewhere "Get a second opinion (by a real serious medical doctor, not a random idiot)."
