I have many memories of PSPS shutoff's [1] It was their passive aggressive response to being blamed for the Paradise fires that forced out 52,000 people, destroyed about 85% of homes (18K structures) and killed people that could not escape fast enough. There are many more such tinder boxes just waiting to pop. I had to set up large inverters, battery banks and generators to work from home during the many PSPS events and PG&E's sloppy power.

The PSPS was one of many factors in my deciding to leave CA. The place I moved to is engineered to handle extreme winds, ice and snow and I now know most of the people in the power company. The person that manages the substations is big into statistics and loves to geek out on power readings that I share with them.
