Ask HN: Would you use non-SaaS downloadable chatbot app?
So like chatgpt.com but on your mobile/computer without internet access necessary, $0, absolutely free? This isn't a question if it's possible but if it's a good idea? I will. 100% privacy and 0$, why not? How is this different from using local models with Ollama? in theory several GBs .bin may be useful chatbot if it's not transformers even better. Not too easy to code but...for me as a user it's preferable over SaaS right now. Privacy is not the issue. Limited use beyond trivial tasks is.
