What Happened to Solving Cancer?
Many companies stated AI will help solve cancer, was it all hype or did some get some progress on that? Or was it just to build hype in your opinion? Have you read this? https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8049618/ Seems to me that AI companies are attacking the wrong things. The best explanation is an old PhD Comic https://phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1162 Cancer it's impossible to solve, it like solving "accidents". You can add airbags to reduce car accidents, and better radars to reduce airplanes accidents, and something to reduce ship accidents, and ... but there is no magic method to solve all accidents. AI solving cancer was hype, or you can call it slop or a lie. Perhaps it may help to improve a few % for one type of cancer here and a few % for another there, that is where the real progress is hidden. I think it will be useful but don't expect a magic instantaneous solution.
