Show HN: Jiggle: speed up the download by jiggling the mouse
jiggle.conradgodfrey.comThis is a silly experiment inspired by a thought I always have when downloading large files: I've always wondered if there was any use for a system that only let's downloads progress if the user stays "active" in some way - maybe as a perverse way to ration the large file downloads to the people who really want them. Back in the days of warez/piracy, I was surprised to never see a "download meter" in exchange for solving CAPTCHAs (that are served from other sites) continuously during the download process if they want to actually get the file. (Or use a Bitcoin mining web worker). It’s like the treadmill connected to the laptop - if you want to watch YouTube, you have to keep exercising.
