How AI changed your daily work at office?
I would like to know from folks whose companies are using AI (or started recently using AI), in what ways your daily work changed? Did it become easier or challenging, or boring? Has the quality of the work or productivity increased?
Personally I have been using AI for my side projects but I haven't seen change in my work life (full stack development). So curious to know others experiences. Largely the same. I just stay in VS Code more and ask questions in the side bar instead of going to the browser to search. Sometimes it saves time, other times it’s a massive time sink. It probably all shakes out pretty even in the end. My management is very anxious to demonstrate that we’re delivering AI in some form, even though they have no idea how it would actually be useful to our specific use care, nor does anyone else. We end up wasting a lot of time spinning lies to make it sound like we are, or could in the future, use AI for a bunch of random problems that are already solved without AI. Overall, I’d say productivity has decreased, as AI often becomes more of a distraction than a tool.
