New (Twin) Dad Advice
hec.worksAs of ~5 months ago, I became a father to a beautiful boy and girl. During my few months getting ready I saw little twin content marketed to dads (fair, moms do vastly more work!), so I figured I would share my experience and a few little tools and tricks that has made life a little easier.
If there is any dad in hackernews having a rough time, my email is at the bottom. Please reach out, support can make a world of difference.
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing this.
You mention doubling up on items for daytime/nighttime--are there any items where you half-up, since you only need one for both babies?
Mmm I'd say bath supplies? You're only ever doing one baby at a time. So one baby tub, comb, etc. They can even share a towel for the first few months.
> Being a twin dad is like x2.
It's not linear, I guess at least quadratic.
FTFY> Being a twin dad is like x4.
> I nearly had a breakdown on day 2!
First week is brutal, then the difficulty gets automatically reduced to "very hard".
You’re probably right. My wife and I like to joke about what a different experience a singleton would be
