Feels a bit like Figma, but for coding agents.

Instead of going back and forth with prompts, you give the agent a DESIGN.md that defines the design system up front, and it generally sticks to it when generating UI.

Google Stitch seems to be moving in this direction as a standard, so we put together a small collection of DESIGN.md files based on popular web sites.

Why do new designs need to go through a manual + paid request:

https://getdesign.md/request

Moreover, the contributing.md doesn’t mention new designs:

https://github.com/VoltAgent/awesome-design-md/blob/main/CON...

Also, folks are creating issues in the repo requesting new designs and leaving their actual email address:

This is sweet! I recently had AI do something similar to pull information from our brand documents to create an instruction set for AI to also generate iconography, illustrations and so on.

The DESIGN.md files look good but I would suggest expanding on it. For example, could it include brand tone and descriptions of visual style. That way it would be helpful for writing copy text and creating art assets.

This actually makes sense. Most outputs from coding agents do start looking similar after a point. Having a fixed design system as input could solve that. Would be interesting to see how flexible it stays with different UI styles.

Awesome idea, usually LLMs lack of creativity, so layouts look mostly the same, I could give a try
