How hard is it to make friends in SF? I would love to be able to find other people who are also trying to build cool stuff :) I don’t recommend it. The housing market is impossible. The premium you pay to live there is often not paid off by the benefits. But many people move there to be in the center of tech. I can’t say they’re wrong just that the city doesn’t build enough new housing to meet demand so prices go up 15% a year during tech booms. (And crashes don’t make them go down, just temporarily stop going up) But if you do, go to events aligned with your interests and talk to strangers. I met a friend and later colleague at a meetup. Lean into exercise and outdoor activities, not for meeting people but for mental health. There’s a fun thing called Nerd Nite. A mini (unaffiliated)Ted talk type event in a bar.
