Ask HN: Why not use Codeburg (or Source Hut)?
GitHub seems to get more and more bad press these days and it has me wondering why people are not moving to Codeburg (or Source Hut)? 8 years ago, when Microsoft bought GitHub, there was much digital ink spilled and some people/projects did leave for GitLab or elsewhere. So one explanation would be that anybody cares already has left. I'd like to leave, but is a lot to lift for what amounts to a reliable/durable git remote storage. Reliable? to data loss, which why I included "durable" 1. Free CI with GitHub Actions 2. Aesthetics 3. Network effect Also, the security section is rather lacking. There seem to be no fine grained access controls. It‘s codeberg.org
