Ask HN: Early stage Founders – How do you acquire early beta users?
I have tried Reddit, Insta, Product HUnt but not much traction. Any suggestions? reddit works quite well if you use it as a channel to identify accounts that are expressing their pain points. Instead of directly pitching your product on such threads, just be resourceful and help them solve their pain points Just make sure your profile is updated with what you're currently building - as you build karma by helping more people, they'll start going to your profile - which then serves as a discovery channel for your product Reddit and Instagram dont work because youre broadcasting to people who dont know they have the problem yet. When we started the services business I got the first few clients by solving their actual pain point so badly they had to keep talking to me about it - basically trapped them in conversation. What problem does your beta solve and have you actually talked to 20 people who currently have that problem, or are you just posting to strangers? Hey hey, tysm for saying that. I was going down the spiral that i was doing something wrong on Reddit & Insta. I am building safety focused ai travel companion for solo travelers, hence i thought Reddit & Insta would be right channel for me. Currently I have 2 cities live which I want to test out with people if they would use this during their trips. So far, I have talked to 30 people (friends+strangers) so far but i am not able to connect with female travelers. I got 10 users coming from reddit but most of them were male.
