The reporting on this keeps saying "WiFi routers", but I don't see anything in the announced policy that limits it to just those (I could have missed something). It appears to apply to all routers, whether they include WiFi or not.

    Perhaps a more applicable description is "consumer routers", as most routers in this category are WiFi routers. An interesting question is whether this policy is applicable to data center network equipment or not.

      That is an interesting question. My read of the published policy is that it does. If this is actually coming from a security concern, I'd think enterprise equipment would be even more important than consumer.
