Contrarian view: Data centers vs. Meat
Data centers are a better return on investment than meat factories and all the resources it needs to sustain meat consumption. Meat could be just lab grown.
The meat industry is extremely wasteful while data centers are very efficient. This is the old world versus the new. The return resource on investment for meat plants is horrible. They use 70% of resources to produce an 18% return in terms of calories. A data center uses a fraction of that land/water and can produce more efficient results. And a proper farm and butcher shop have even worse return-on-investment than a Meat Factory. Is it possible that ROI isn't the best metric? FWIW I would rather we stop using data centers for running social media sites and move it towards AI. You can't eat data. Seven States have already banned lab-grown meat. Because it threatens their cattle economy?
