AI-Powered F1 Predictions
danielfinch.co.ukWell, ~1 hour after the race: it got the bets correct. But it didn't expect that Piastri would crash on the way to the grid (of course, we haven't invented a future-seeing AI yet ;) ).
But this is very voodoo, it's asking 3 black boxes "What do you think", they answer, but you probably can't see their reasoning. Or can you?
This Formula 1 season, I'm putting frontier models to the test - can they use their research capabilities to accurately predict outcomes of races?
But can it predict Ferrari’s Next Year (tm)?
Maybe easier and more urgently, predict if they should take advantage of a VSC to pit. HAM would have had a podium had he pitted and LEC not.
Never underestimate Ferrari strategy team's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Why would the team apply different strategies if it would not yield any extra points and would probably upset the lower finishing driver ?
We know that in hindsight, but at the time even Lewis asked why they didn't pit one driver.
