Yes, there have been recent HN submissions that data science the recent pattern. It's very similar to the crypto hype cycle and we assume it will die down as reality sinks in.
There is evidence that a sizable portion are people from the crypto space, who've fallen in love with the claw concept and are still trying to plant a money tree.
This is not a bad thing. Speed of innovation is increasing with ease of toolset use. I anticipate this will slow down eventually.
