Anthropic/Claude status, signs of what to come of stability?
status.claude.comOver my years working, I've never seen such a popular service with such a rainbow colored status page and frequent outages.
We know Anthropic is dogfooding claude for all its worth, and clearly they are working with a widespread set of issues.
Is this going to be the new normal, or is it simply clear it's not working well based on past measurements?
And it's usually never true. The services are running but the logins aren't.
While I'm perfectly capable of working without it, it feels like I'd be wasting my own time if I did any work.
My co-worker who's a sysadmin and has just been getting into building his own tools for 2 weeks, is now spamming the chat "Claude is down" - just like /newest
It's an odd thing that this site has notices because if you care, then you already know. And if you don't care, then you don't care.
The unreliable service is why I opted for Google over Anthropic 16 months ago. Seems it was a good choice.
fwiw, you can get the same Claude models, for the same price, served up by Google in VertexAI
Stability? No. Availability.
Huge difference for any customer foolish enough to rely on it.
