Ask HN: 10 months since the Llama-4 release: what happened to Meta AI?
I understand Llama 4 was a disappointment, but what's happened at Meta since then? Their API is still waitlist-only 10 months on. AFAIK Zuck got mad and restructured the whole department. What's likely is that there won't be anything open / significant coming out from them anymore "getting Zuck'd" I wonder why they did not yet rename themselves to "AI" or "Llama" because surely Metaverse ("Meta") is not a hot thing anymore? History suggests that when Zuck takes a personal interest in a project, it tends to derail. Metas AI initiative might be headed for the same fate as his previous obsessions. Poor leadership I will say.
