Ask HN: AI tools for learning and spaced repetition
I'm looking for any products for learning new topics and that are designed for helping users retain new knowledge - eg. with spaced repetition or smart use of follow-up questions.
I can almost get chatgpt to do this, and their voice mode is great for question / answer, but it's not really setup to understand / track what you know and what your learning objectives are.
Curious to find out any positive experiences of any new tools out there. The missing piece in most learning tools: they assume you manually feed them content. But where does that content come from? You're already:
- Reading HN discussions
- Following newsletters
- Monitoring subreddits
- Scanning Discord servers What if the same AI that filters this information also:
1. Identifies concepts worth remembering
2. Generates SRS cards automatically
3. Tracks what you've mastered vs what needs review You'd go from "information overload" → "filtered insights" →
"retained knowledge" in one pipeline. Passive consumption → Active retention, automatically. This is the direction I'm exploring with Daigest (currently does steps 1-2,
considering adding 3). Anyone else see value in this workflow? https://app.fenelon.io/
Use AI to create content and exercices, track your progress along your learning objectives, create new content based on your wrong answers, ... sounds cool. I guess you built this? Is there any way to learn more about how it works before signing in? The homepage doesn't give much away :)
