SoundCloud deleted 12 years of my music – so I built my own
Today I woke up to find that SoundCloud had removed all of my music — including tracks I uploaded more than 12 years ago. No meaningful explanation, no recourse. Just gone.
This wasn’t a surprise, but it was a reminder of a structural problem: when artists depend on centralized platforms, they don’t actually own their distribution.
That’s why some time ago I started Rauversion: an open-source, self-hosted platform to publish, discuss, and commercialize music independently. It’s built for artists and small labels who want to run their own infrastructure instead of handing their catalogs to monopolistic platforms that can disappear their work overnight.
