Opinion: Why tech leaders can't regulate AI before releasing them?

Lately i've been seeing news about people calling out tech leaders for calling out AI haters. In my opinion, this is an easy situation to avoid. If you have the capacity to develop the models, and host them in thousands of square miles of AI datacenters, you should be able to regulate the models from the get go. To be compliant with the current law around the world, our common sense, and the real demand for AI. And that's exactly why Elon's Grok is being blocked in few countries.

Because they don’t want to.

I expect the CEOs have decided that they would rather spend time/money/maypower on (A) attracting investment dollars rather than (B) making end-users excited or pleased.

I think because many of them, notably Microsoft have a tendency to release things too early and fix in post.
