FSD is an assistance system that requires drivers to pay attention and intervene if needed.

In other words, it is actually not "FSD" but rather level 2 automation that entices users into risky behavior.

Actually remaining focused and ready to intervene takes very nearly as much effort as driving.

So the only real motivation to pay extra for it is if you plan to do otherwise and place yourself and others at risk.
