Ask HN: What happens to world economics when humanity reaches triade?
Hey folks, I'm intrigued by the consequences of what do you think it will happen to the global economy when humanity reaches these buzzword state-of-the-art technologies, like AGI, Quantum Computing and Robotics?
I mean when those things becomes so accessible and cheap that it will be considered a commodity
What do you think will happen to our society? AGI, Fusion/solar, Robotics Fixed it for you >when humanity reaches these buzzword state-of-the-art technologies, like AGI, Quantum Computing and Robotics? It wont. >What do you think will happen to our society? If those were to happen, 80% of working people would be left to live in shanty towns and make do however they can, if they can. Unless we're talking about Star Trek robotics that can do anything, the core activities like mining, farmimg, and so on would still be from the 10-20% of workers, even more underpaid because of the competition with the other 80% for those jobs. Plus a number of craftsmen, chefs, servants, sex for hires, etc. catering to the elites. This is likely Asimov's vision on Necromancer, isn't it? Pretty much a cyberpunk world Yeah, or Soylent Green and the like Go into hairdressing. Billionaires will always have wives (not to be heteronormative), and those wives will always want to gossip to a human with a life of their own, so it's the only future proof profession. That's an interesting POV , I hope we never have to work for billionaire's wives in this way
