Can LLMs give us AGI if they are bad at arithmetic?

Did Wes post this here himself (maybe via an automated pipeline?)?

My short answer to the question in title is : I never believed LLMs in their current form will give us AGI. They will become a super effective knowledge retrieving and synthesizing tool which has massive application on many aspects of our lives though.
